The Founding Conference Of the Teaching Steering Committee For Electrical & Automation Majors Of Sichuan Regular Undergraduate Colleges & Universities Was Held

On September 21, 2026, the founding conference and the first plenary meeting of the Teaching Steering Committee for Electrical and Automation Majors of Sichuan Regular Undergraduate Colleges and Universities (2026-2030) was held at Southwest Jiaotong University.
The conference was hosted by the Teaching Steering Committee and undertaken by the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University. Academician Gao Shibin, Director of the Committee and Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice Directors Xiao Xian-yong (Sichuan University), Chen Kai (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China), Wang Jun (Xihua University), Luo Xiao-rong (Chengdu University of Information Technology), as well as committee members and representatives from 29 universities across the province attended the meeting. Ma Guang-tong, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Leng Wei, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School, were present at the event, which was presided over by Han Ying, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering.
Ma Guang-tong, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech and extended warm greetings to all participating leaders and guests. He stated that the establishment of the committee is a key measure to integrate high-quality educational resources across the province and advance undergraduate education and teaching reform. He expressed the hope that the new committee will build on the solid foundation laid by the previous session, work in unity, uphold integrity and pursue innovation, and continuously improve the quality of undergraduate talent cultivation for electrical and automation majors in Sichuan.
Subsequently, Leng Wei, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School of Southwest Jiaotong University, read out the list of members of the Teaching Steering Committee (2026-2030).
Academician Gao Shi-bin, pointed out in his speech that the new committee will fully implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, give full play to its roles in research, consultation, evaluation, training, guidance and leadership, and promote the overall improvement of the undergraduate talent cultivation level for electrical and automation majors across Sichuan Province.
During the exchange and discussion session, the participating committee members, drawing on their teaching management practices, conducted in-depth discussions on topics including professional connotation construction, engineering education accreditation, digital-intelligent empowered education, in-depth industry-university-research integration, and faculty recruitment and cultivation, putting forward a series of constructive suggestions for the work of the new Teaching Steering Committee.
