On September 10, the university held the 2026 Teachers' Day Celebration Conference in the International Conference Hall of Jiuli Campus. At the meeting, Mr. Yan Qi-xiang, Vice President, read out the Decision of the CPC Southwest Jiaotong University Committee on Honoring the 2026 "Si Guo Prize", and Mr. Ge Xing-lai was awarded the "Si Guo Prize". Mr. Yan Xue-dong, Secretary of the Party Committee, presented the award to the winning teachers of the "Si Guo Prize", and student representatives presented flowers to the awardees.

It is reported that to fully implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, promote the good custom of respecting teachers and valuing education, and further enhance the sense of honor and responsibility of the majority of teachers, SWJTU has launched the selection of the "Si Guo Prize" since 2022. The "Si Guo Prize"  was established by alumni Liu Wensi and Yu Guoxiang, who donated their lifelong savings.
