On May 15th, the Southwest Jiaotong University Development Forum on New Quality Productivity in Transportation (Integration of Transportation and Energy, Empowered by Digital Intelligence) & Alumni Forum for Electrical Engineering Achievements was held at Xipu Campus.

Mr. Liu Changjun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University, presided over the first phase of the forum.

Academician Lu Jiazheng delivered a report entitled Lithium Battery Fire Safety Technology.

Ms. Bi Tianshu delivered a report entitled Analysis on Technological Trends of Energy Intersection and Integration.

Mr. Wang Baoguo delivered a report entitled Review and Prospect of China's Electrified Railway.

Mr. Ding Shukui delivered a report entitled Setting Off for a New Era of Urban Rail Transit, Re-starting Intelligent Urban Rail Transit.

Academician Gao Shibin delivered a report entitled Reflections on the Green and Low-carbon Transformation of Railway Power Supply.

Mr. Wang Bin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, presided over the second phase of the forum.

Mr. Ma Guangtong, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, took "Transporting the World, Answering with Electrical Engineering" as the theme, and reported on the college's historical evolution, faculty strength, international cooperation, discipline construction, talent training, scientific research achievements and other work. At the same time, on behalf of the college, he extended an invitation to alumni, welcoming them to come back often, recall the years of classmates, discuss the development of the college, and join hands to contribute electrical power to the construction of a country with strong transportation network.

In the session of gratitude to teachers, Academician Gao Shibin presented flowers to his teacher Academician Qian Qingquan.

Mr. Cheng Qinghai extended warm congratulations to the university on its 130th anniversary in his speech, and paid high tribute to the outstanding contributions made by generations of predecessors in electrical engineering discipline of the college. Facing the new trend of industry transformation, enterprises are focusing on accelerating the layout in the directions of integration of transportation and energy, digital empowerment, green and low-carbon development, etc. In the future, they will deepen industry-university-research cooperation with the School of Electrical Engineering in various fields, join hands to break through key technologies, promote the transformation of achievements, and jointly build the cause of a country with strong transportation network.

During the anniversary celebration, the college simultaneously held the Achievements Exhibition of the School of Electrical Engineering to showcase the college's achievements in talent training, scientific research, industry-education integration and other fields over the decades.
