School of Electrical Engineering History Museum Opens

‌"Time to Inherit the Legacy" – the opening ceremony of the School of Electrical Engineering History Museum was held in front of the Electrical Engineering Building at Xipu Campus on May 15, hosted by Dean Ma Guangtong‌, celebrating the 130th anniversary of Southwest Jiaotong University.

Mr. Kang Guozheng,SWJTU ‌CPC Party Committee Standing Member and Vice President,extended congratulations and respect to all faculty, students, and overseas alumni of the School of Electrical Engineering‌. He stated that Southwest Jiaotong University's 130-year educational journey is an epic of struggle closely tied to the nation's destiny and aligned with the tide of the times. The School of Electrical Engineering's more than seventy years of development is a significant chapter within this epic. The completion of the history museum further inspires electrical engineers to carry forward the spirit of electrical engineering. He hopes the school will seize this opportunity to continue upholding fine traditions, closely align with national strategies, pursue practical knowledge, and achieve real results, striving to reach new heights and make further achievements in the forefront of electrical engineering.

As the donor, Mr. Qin Yixuan, founder of Nanjing Aikelong, spoke as a representative of alumni‌. Mr. Qin expressed that upon learning of the museum's construction, he and his team proactively offered support, demonstrating their gratitude to their alma mater through concrete actions. He hopes all members of the School of Electrical Engineering will inherit the noble character and spirit of struggle from their predecessors, and showcase the responsibility and commitment of electrical engineers in the new era. He concluded by congratulating the successful opening of the museum and wishing the school continued success and brilliance in its future endeavors.

Prof. Qian Qingquan, Chinese engineering academician, and Mr.Kang Guozheng, Vice President of SWJTU unveiled the plaque for the history museum, marking its official opening‌.

‌The School of Electrical Engineering selected 10 outstanding students as the first batch of museum docents.

‌Subsequently, attendees toured the history museum under the guidance of docents, following textual and physical exhibits to revisit the school's more than 70-year journey of perseverance and educational dedication.

The alumni paused in front of the Electrical Engineering Building to take commemorative photos and capture beautiful moments.
