On January 30, Elsevier officially released the 2025 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. Five scholars from the School of Electrical Engineering — Prof. He Zhengyou, Prof. Liu Zhigang, Prof. Li Qi, Prof. Song Wensheng, andProf. Zhao Haiquan — made the list.

Elsevier's Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List uses the globally authoritative citation and indexing database Scopus as the statistical source for Chinese scholars' research achievements, analyzing their scientific output. It has received widespread attention from both domestic and international media and scholars. A total of 6,310 individuals made the 2025 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List, coming from 543 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 10 disciplinary areas and 83 first-level disciplines defined by the Ministry of Education.
