Prof. Huang Deqing Won the 13th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science&Technology Award

From April 12 to 14, 2024, the 13th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award Ceremony of the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence and the 2023 Chinese Artificial Intelligence Industry Annual Conference were held in Suzhou. Prof. Huang Deqing's team won the 2023 CAAI Teaching Achievement Incentive Plan (Class II ) Award.
The project team coordinates the resources of the education and teaching, scientific research and practice platform of the artificial intelligence major of the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, and actively explores, tries and builds new ideas, new methods and new platforms for the improvement of the quality of undergraduate talent training in the field of artificial intelligence by relying on the construction of new engineering, first-class majors, first-class courses and engineering professional certification. The innovation and entrepreneurship education model of "in-school knowledge reserve-innovation and entrepreneurship competition grinding-school-enterprise joint training" is proposed, and an education and teaching framework system of "multi-channel integration of science and education, industry and education, and internationalization" is formed to improve the quality of talent training. Through the introduction of the new concept of "learning-oriented scientific research team" and the new form of integration of science and education, the level of initiative and in-depth talent training will be improved, and students' active learning and scientific research education will be realized. By introducing a new paradigm of integration of industry and education, the practical teaching system is reconstructed, the refinement and engineering degree of talent training are improved, and the traction of industrial demand and the integrity of practice platform resources are strengthened. By closely combining the endogenous drive of the industry and the national development strategy, a new model of international integration is introduced to improve the rail transit characteristics and internationalization degree of artificial intelligence talent training.
The project team has introduced more than 50 school-enterprise cooperation projects in the fields of intelligent train driving, intelligent drive and intelligent robots into the cultivation of undergraduates' entrepreneurship. In the past five years, more than 100 personalized experiments and more than 120 SRTP experiments have been carried out. Prof. Huang has supervised undergraduate students to publish 55 papers, and his team members have applied for more than 60 patents (including 32 authorized and 28 accepted). He has tutored more than 200 students to participate in the entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship competition, and won 39 awards at the provincial level and above (23 national awards and 16 provincial awards).
The team actively carried out all-round exploration and practice of new engineering reform, and formed a new system of cooperative education and education that can be replicated, demonstrated and promoted.
The team will continuously assist our university in cultivating more high-level talents in electronic information engineering.
