The 11th "Infineon Cup" Advanced Power Conversion Technology Competition (National University Power Electronics Application Design Contest) was successfully held at Southwest Jiaotong University on May 11, 2025. Co-organized by China Power Supply Society and its Science and Technology Competition Working Committee, with Southwest Jiaotong University as the host institution, the event attracted 85 university teams from across the country.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by distinguished guests including: Prof. ‌He Zhengyou‌, Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU); Zhang Jinfa‌, Vice Chairman of the China Power Supply Society; ‌Song Qingliang‌, Head of Technical Support Team for High-Power Switching Power Supplies in China at Infineon Technologies; Prof. ‌Ruan Xinbo‌, Vice Chairman of the China Power Supply Society; Prof. ‌Wu Xinke‌, Chair of the Advanced Power Conversion Technology Track; Prof. ‌Ma Guangtong‌, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering (SWJTU); Prof. ‌Zheng Zedong‌, Professor of Tsinghua University; Prof. ‌Sha Deshang‌, Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology; ‌Prof. Xu Jianping‌, Professor of SWJTU; Prof. ‌Song Wensheng‌, Vice Dean of the School of Integrated Circuits (SWJTU); ‌Prof. Wang Yijie‌, Professor of Harbin Institute of Technology;‌ Chen Cai‌, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology; ‌Chen Qingbin‌, Professor of Fuzhou University;‌ Yang Nüxin‌, Marketing Director of AiHua Group;‌ Nie Jin‌, Director of the Applied Research Institute at AiHua Group and Wang Guanqun‌, Product Director of Megatech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.

At 8:30 AM, the launch ceremony officially commenced. Vice President He Zhengyou of SWJTU delivered an opening speech, extending warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to distinguished guests, faculty, and students present. He emphasized the institution's commitment to cultivating students' practical hands-on skills and innovation/entrepreneurship capabilities through an integrated practical education system and robust student innovation support framework, which has consistently ranked the university among national top performers in collegiate competitions. Highlighting power electronics' pivotal role in China's energy transition, he noted the competition's strategic alignment with national energy priorities, stressing its significance in "stimulating innovative thinking, solving real-world challenges, and advancing sustainable development". Concluding with ceremonial wishes, he encouraged participants to "demonstrate excellence and achieve growth through this professional platform".

Following the opening ceremony, representatives from organizing bodies delivered successive addresses.

Mr. Song Qingliang‌,  delivered a keynote report titled ‌"Gallium Nitride (GaN) Devices and Their Driving Technologies"‌.

Mr. Wang Guanqun, delivered a technical report titled ‌"Third-Generation Semiconductor Testing: Technical Challenges and Industry Practices"‌.

Mr. Nie Jing, presented a technical report entitled ‌"Characteristics and Application Innovations of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors"‌.

The ‌Q&A and Interactive Discussion Session‌ featured dynamic exchanges between competition team delegates and domain experts.

The successful convening of this ‌Launch Ceremony and Competition Guidance Symposium‌ established an invaluable academic exchange platform for participating faculty and students, while profoundly underscoring the strategic centrality of power electronics technology in China's national development framework.
