The Technical Review Conference of the “High-speed Railway Catenary Prognostics and Health Management” Project was held at Beijing on 24 December 2020 by Ministry of Science, Technology and Information of China Railway and presided over by Professor Gao Shibin of Electrical Engineering School of Southwest Jiaotong University, and National Research Center of Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology.
The Technical Review Conference under the chairmanship of Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wang Yuming, was attended by experts from Ministry of Public Works and Power Supply of China Railway, Tsinghua University, China Railway First Survey and Design Institute, China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group, China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute, China Railway Liuyuan Group, China Railway Beijing Group and Taiyuan Group, Vice President Zhou Nan of Science and Technology Development Institute, Dean Chen Weirong of Electrical Engineering School and research group members from Southwest Jiaotong University.
This major scientific and technological development project approved by China Railway Group in 2015 was chaired by Southwest Jiaotong University and engaged by China Railway Design Corp., China Academy of Railway Sciences Corp. and Chengdu Tangyuan Electric Corp. On the basis of the synergy of production, education, research and utilization, the 6-year research delivers fruitful outcomes, including establishing fault dictionary and index system, breaking new grounds in key technologies, developing technical equipment and passing field trial test.
As commented by the Technical Review Committee, it proposes a series of innovative approaches to the catenary prognostics and health management, whose objective is to lay a solid theoretical foundation for the fault diagnosis and prediction, health management and maintenance strategy of overhead contact line system (OCS) and its components. By developing the first OCS prognostics and health management system based on Cloud Platform and Big Data Platform at home and abroad, it enables dynamic management of the whole life cycle of OCS equipment, and transforms maintenance mode from "condition-based maintenance" to "preventive maintenance". This pioneering system has independent intellectual property rights, reaching world-leading level.
