Recently, Prof. Haiquan Zhao's team from the School of Electrical Engineering won the Best Paper Award and Best Presentation Award from International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (ICDSP) and International Conference on Signal Processing Systems (ICSPS).

 (1)  “Best Paper Award”、“Best Presentation Award”at ICDSP

On February 26-28, 2021, the 5th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (ICDSP2021) was successfully held online. The ICDSP2021 conference was co-sponsored by Southwest Jiaotong University and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and technically supported by many universities and institutions. Professor Xiaodong Wang (IEEE Fellow) from Columbia University, Professor Erchin Serpedin from Texas A&M University (IEEE Fellow), Professor Graziano Chesi (IEEE Fellow) from the University of Hong Kong, China, and Professor Gu Yuantao from Tsinghua University around the conference research field Carried out the theme report. Experts and scholars from the United States, Germany, China, Japan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions participated in the conference through online conferences. This conference selected total of 6 "Best Presentation" and 1 "Best Paper Award". PhD student Yingying Zhu, a member of Prof. Haiquan Zhao's team, was awarded the Best Paper Award, while both she and PhD Gebeyehu were awarded the Best Presentation Award.

【Complex-valued Normalized Maximum Versoria Criterion Algorithm for Widely Linear Adaptive Filter】To obtain a lower computational burden and an effective robust algorithm, we define the maximum Versoria criterion (MVC) in the complex-valued domain and introduce the MVC into the widely linear model, presenting the normalized WL-MCVC algorithm. The algorithm provides an adaptive inertial weight factor instead of the Sigmoid function for avoiding the exponential computation and ensuring the low steady-state misalignment.

 (2) "Best Paper Award" of the ICSPSP International Conference

From November 6th to 9th, 2020, the 12th International Conference on Signal Processing Systems (ICSPS2020) was held in virtual manner on the ZOOM platform at Beijing time. The conference was jointly organized by East China Normal University and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Multidimensional Information Processing. The conference invited 6 keynote speakers and 1 guest speaker to introduce their recent research work. They are Professor Robert Minasian (IEEE Fellow&OSA Fellow) from the University of Sydney, Australia, Professor Vivek Goyal (IEEE Fellow & OSA Fellow) from Boston University, USA, Professor Alejandro F Frangi (IEEE Fellow & SPIE Fellow) from the University of Leeds, UK, Professor Min Wu (IEEE Fellow & AAAS Fellow) from College Park, University of Maryland, USA, Professor Feifei Gao (IEEE Fellow) from Tsinghua University, China, and Professor Mads Græsbøll Christensen from Aalborg University, Denmark, and Dr. Ervin Seydic from American University. PhD student Shaohui Lv of Professor Haiquan Zhao's team won the only "Best Paper Award" in the conference.

【A Robust Least Mean M-estimate Adaptive Filtering Algorithm Based on Geometric Algebra for System Identification】 Inspired by the filtering algorithm based on the M-estimate function, this paper considers extending the conventional LMM algorithm to the geometric algebraic GA space and derives the GALMM algorithm. To further improve the tracking performance of the GALMM algorithm, in view of the sudden change of the parameters to be estimated in the multi-dimensional system, combined with the variable step size (VSS) scheme, we proposed a VSS-GALMM algorithm and applied it to the multi-dimensional impulsive noise environment task of system parameter identification. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
