On July 15th, 2018, Prof. Wang Peng, Nanyang Technological University visited labs of SEE and NEEC, SWJTU, with company of Prof. Gao Shibin, dean of NEEC, Prof. He Xiaoxiong, deputy dean of SEE and NEEC.
Prof. Wang currently works in Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU in Singapore as IEEE Fellow. He was a former deputy editor of IEEE Transaction Smart Grid, but now a deputy editor of IEEE Transaction Power Delivery. His research focuses on Power system reliability and flexible evaluation, control and operation, Smart Grid and Grid, etc. He published more than 350 papers including more than 100 papers in IEEE Transaction.
Prof. Wang visited Industrial Power Electronics Laboratory and spoke highly of the progress in high-power power electronic converter and wide-bandgap SiC device.
After the visit, Prof. Wang made a humorous report for teachers and students. In his address, he introduced the traditional AC power system based on power frequency transformer; and analyzed the future trend and challenges in the transformation of electric power system. Then, he explained the future framework of power market, application and development of new energy, smart grid and grid reliability. Prof. Wang hope SEE and NEEC to continuously lead the trend in the field of the high-speed rail electrification and automation.
